MAORI OYSTER SETTING

Inspired by the Maori Tribe of New Zealand and their iconic tattoo culture, the forms of tableware proudly interpret the bold lines and traditional symbolism while celebrating their close relationship to the sea as people of an island nation. The dish of New Zealand oysters rests on a serving platter with custom-molded ice, referencing the undulation of the ocean's surface, with three suspended sauce bowls accenting the composition as subdominant elements. The setting is complete with a curved fork for loosening the oysters from the shell and a sauce spoon to serve the perfect amount of condiment for a single oyster. The white wine chalice echos the reverse curves found in the Maori tattoo language.
